It was a dark and stormy night when the English major trudged down the infinite stairwell towards the door. Shouldering her heavy pack, laden with classics, poetry, and creative writing textbooks, she stopped abruptly and turned to face the bulletin board on the second floor. WANTED, it said. SOMEONE WHO SPEAKS IN TONGUES.
Well, she thought. I can do that. She tore a strip of paper from the bottom of the advertisement.
Later, the phone rang once, twice, in a room far across the city. Then, a voice, soft as the swing of hair across a bare shoulder.
"Are you a speaker of tongues?"
"I'm working on it." She said honestly.
"Well?"
"Japanese, comprehensibly. I can understand Spanish and German and some Latin. I'm very fluent in English."
"Come back when you know French and Russian."
"Well, fine." She hung the phone up with a flounce and sat down at her computer. It had been a long shot, anyway.
The phone rang. She looked at it suspiciously.
"I forgot to ask - are you the person who wrote that Jabberwocky noir?"
"Yes..."
"You're hired."
And so it began.

Fun Facts:
I cannot make eclairs - this summer is devoted to mastering them
My favorite animes all involve assassins
In personality tests, I turn up Remus Lupin, Jane Bennet, and Ianto Jones
In Hogwarts House tests, I'm a Ravenclaw or a Hufflepuff
I'm a slash shipper of shows I haven't actually watched. I'll get around to them someday.
Sometimes I write fanfiction. Mostly I write slightly psychological thriller type short stories.
I have three novels started. They remain just that.
I know the toxicity of 3/4 of the plants in your average garden. On the up side, that means I know which ones you can eat and what to do with them.
I Irish step dance and play the Celtic harp.
I think tea, whipped cream and chocolate solves everything. But no whipped cream in tea. Ew. It goes on the chocolate.
Once you've had my scones, you'll never want anyone else's.
Same for the brownies.
I'm willing to try almost anything once.
I'm stubborn.
I dream in color.
